We are very excited to announce that we’ve been chosen as one of two installers for Solar Together’s current round of PV installations in London. Solar Together is a group-buying scheme, enabling thousands of people to sign up for a personal solar recommendation, which they can purchase at a very competitive price.
Our vision since we started the company almost a decade ago has been of a country where every homeowner can generate their own clean, renewable energy. Technology and costs have changed enormously in that time, but a project like this goes even further towards making solar an option for many more people. We’re delighted to be part of this journey.
We’re determined to provide all our new customers with the same attentive service and high quality systems that have made us one of the most trusted installers in the country. Our in-house technicians will design the system using optimal equipment chosen for the project. After discussing this with you and carrying out an on site survey, our team will install your new solar system.
A group-buying scheme is an innovative way to deliver solar panels to a large collection of people from a specific area at a lower cost. We’re able to offer reduced prices due to the volume of customers in a condensed area. The scheme works like a reverse auction - only solar installers who meet a high level of expertise are allowed to bid for the contract, with the most competitive quote winning.
Solar Together is run by iChoosr, in partnership with the Mayor of London’s office and participating London boroughs. This is the third successful London round of the programme, with other Solar Together schemes currently running in Manchester, Suffolk and Norfolk. You can keep an eye on their website if a group-buying scheme local to you is of interest.
Are group-buying schemes the future of solar? As we face another general election, environmental policies and renewable energy are top of the agenda for many parties. In the race to net zero, there are pledges to encourage uptake of technologies like solar PV across the country. Chances are that innovations like community energy and local group-buying will take off even further.
