Jack Taylor

Hi! My name's Jack and I've been a part of the Spirit Energy team since January 2025. I've had a keen interest in renewable energy ever since I started learning more about the technology at university. I studied at Portsmouth for 4 years and graduated in 2022 with a Masters in Mechanical Engineering. I did research into various forms of renewables during my time there but solar was always the most interesting to me.

In my role as commercial technical designer, I design solar systems and work on the technical aspects of projects. This includes creating shading simulations, producing schematics and string design, among other things. Working on commercial jobs often gives me the opportunity to tackle large scale projects which can make a big impact.

Outside of work, my main interests are film, music, travel and gaming. I’m an avid cinema goer who enjoys a variety of genres and I regularly attend concerts and music festivals with friends. I also like to use gaming as another way to socialise in my free time and have a keen interest in travel and culture, having visited many places across the world.
