In August 2020, Spirit installed Powerwall 2 for a client in Ascot, Berkshire. We mounted the weatherproof battery and gateway on the outside wall of Mr B’s home, with the cabling going through to the distribution board inside.
Mr B has a 3.5kWp PV system, with annual generation of 3,170kWh. By adding the battery, we estimate that his onsite consumption of solar energy will increase from 24% to 75%. His annual electricity usage supplied by solar should increase from 25% to 79%.
Additionally, Powerwall has backup functionality to keep the home running during a power cut.
