Looking at Google search data, you can see how interest in solar panels has intensified since the energy crisis hit the news last autumn, and surged when the upcoming electricity price hikes were announced last month:
Data source: Google Trends.
It’s not surprising that solar PV is more appealing than ever - it’s a relatively straightforward and affordable way to give yourself a degree of energy independence and insulation from price volatility.
And we’re seeing the effect of this rise in demand. This February, we received 97% more enquiries than the same month last year.
With twice as many enquiries coming in, it doesn’t take long for a backlog to build up. Our sales team is working flat out to deal with all enquiries in a fair and timely manner, without sacrificing the quality of advice you’ve come to expect from Spirit.
This does mean that it will take longer for us to respond, so please bear with us! We will reply to initial enquiries as soon as we can.
Since our team is so busy quoting and designing PV systems, we may not be as quick providing general solar advice as we’d like. But we’ve always tried to share as much information as possible on our website, so if you have a question about solar, chances are it’s answered on here somewhere.
To get started, we recommend reading our residential PV guide, browsing our knowledge bank articles, flicking through the blog or popping your query in the search bar at the top of the page.
For a ballpark price, you can try our online calculator, which will provide you with estimates on cost, savings, payback period and more for your system.
When you feel ready to get a quote, please go through our online form rather than phoning or emailing in. This will guide you through providing all the information we need to get started (the more details you can provide, the better), so our team can focus on your system rather than admin!
Due to a global chip shortage and constraints on battery cell supply, Tesla has experienced Powerwall production backlogs in the tens of thousands over the past year. As a result, deliveries to installers like us are severely restricted (and subject to change). We’re operating a first-come, first-served waiting list for Powerwall installations, but the lead time is currently about 12 months, and liable to further delays.
Unfortunately, there’s nothing we can do to speed this up, but we can install your solar panels first and then return later to add the battery when it’s available.
We appreciate it’s frustrating to wait longer for a response, especially when current circumstances make the desire for solar panels ever more pressing, but rest assured that we’re working hard in the background.
In the meantime, thank you for bearing with us and we look forward to getting started on your project as soon as we can.
