In September 2020, Spirit installed a 4.44kWp solar system for a customer in Weston-super-Mare.
The PV system comprises 12 LG 370W panels and should produce 4,147kWh a year. As you can see in the image above, the panels are edged with mesh - this is to prevent birds from nesting underneath and causing damage to the electrics. We always recommend having bird protection installed at the same time as the panels, since it’s much cheaper while scaffolding is already in place.
Alongside the solar, we installed a Tesla battery. Powerwall is estimated to increase the solar output used on site from 29% to 83%. This means that the client’s annual usage supplied by solar should also increase from 22% to 63%. He can also benefit from off peak charging and power cut protection.
