Over the course of 2 months, starting in February 2023, Spirit Energy installed a vast 491.265 kWp solar PV system at CPV Ltd in Romsey. CPV Ltd is a company based in East Wellow, Romsey who specialise in engineering pipe systems for industrial applications. They reached out to us in April 2022 to explore the potential of installing solar PV at their site to reinforce their sustainability credentials and reduce the carbon footprint of their operations.
Spirit carried out a feasibility study, including the necessary planning and grid connection applications, as well as structural assessment of the roofs. All approvals were finally in place by the start of 2023, and the system was ready for installation.
The final system comprises 1213 no. Trina 405W solar panels connected to 4 no. Solis 100 kW inverters. Our modelling estimates that the system will generate around 480,000 kWh annually, directly supplying a third of the site's electricity usage.
